The newly hired homeroom teacher, Genkoku, at Seishou Academy discovers that the female middle school students all have excellent marksmanship skills... and happen to be anthropomorphised international assault rifles:There is short-tempered Funko (FNC, manufactured in Belgium's Fabrique Nationale), the proud, accurate Shigu (SIG SG550, Switzerlands's SIG company), the pitiful Eru (L85A1, UK's Royal Small Arms Factory), and the foul-mouthed, but caring Ichiroku (M16A4, American company, Colt) and Funko's best friend.Reading various quite ominous signs in the academy's hallways: "Keep chamber empty in the school building", "Do not fire in the hallway", and "Keep your safety on at all times!" Genkoku is starting to wonder, what he is getting himself into.

Comedy Anime whose central struggle causes hilarious results. These stories are built upon funny characters, situations and events. A comedy anime is laced with humour and sets out to provoke laughter from the audience.

Japanese humour can be a bit strange to westerners, so if you`re new to this type of humour, just bear with it; it`ll most likely grow on you if you`re a fan of other kinds of comedy. Earth That big mud ball that most of us live on. Ecchi Ecchi, or etchi (エッチ), is a common Japanese word meaning “indecent”, “lewd”, “frisky” or “sexy”, while its usage can be compared to the word “naughty”. The term is used when vague sexual content, such as skimpy clothing or nudity, is prominent. Female Students Pretty much exclusive to hentai shows only unless an ecchi show has implied sex and/or a strong indicator of nudity. A character is considered a student if she goes to school, doesn`t matter if it`s high school, college or homeschooling, but she should be of appropriate age for a student; a housewife going to college should not get this category. Large Breasts Focus on larger than average breasts. Pretty common in anime. Usually involves adolescent girls or fully grown women. Middle School Also referred to as junior high school (or lower-secondary education; compulsory in Japan) covers the grades seven, eight, and nine. The students are typically twelve to fifteen years old.

Anime with school setting centre on Middle School students when younger, possibly more naive and `innocent` (less worldly wise) characters are required. Original Work: Manga Manga is the lifeblood that drives the anime industry. Everything and its mother is based on manga. However! There are exceptions where the manga was not the basis for the anime.
It`s common practice to make manga adaptations of many popular anime, there`s a manga based on Evangelion, and two (one shounen and one shoujo) based on each of Escaflowne and Mahou Tsukai Tai. This is done to avoid the introduction of other languages, in order to avoid major mandatory subtitling, or for other reasons. furo scene Furo (polite: Ofuro) is Japanese for bath, specifically a type of bath which originated as a short, steep-sided wooden bathtub. Baths of this type are found all over Japan in houses, apartments and traditional Japanese inns (Ryokans).

Furo are part of the Japanese ritual of bathing, not used for washing but for relaxing and warming oneself. Washing is carried out separately outside the furo, and only when completely clean does the bather enter the water. Generally Japanese bathrooms are small, so the bathroom is set up much like a walk-in shower area but containing the ofuro.

The cheapest and shortest way to show naked skin on TV, at least as much as allowed. It usually only takes up few minutes at most and as such it gives the staff the opportunity to draw the characters in the nude and raise the DVD sales while still maintaining a "non-filler" episode.

Compare to the big brothers sentou episode and onsen episode. girls with guns From pistols and sniper rifles to fully automatic machine guns and grenade launchers — some or many of the female characters have selected guns as their weapon of choice, and they do not shy away from using them. Kansai-ben The Kansai-ben is a distinct group of related Japanese dialects found in the Kansai region of Japan. They are typified by the speech of Osaka, which is referred to specifically as Osaka-ben. It is characterized as being both more melodic and harsher by speakers of the standard language.

Note: Accent from the Kansai region of Japan, treated similarly to a southern accent in the US. live-action imagery This anime incorporates still images and/or video footage of real-world objects and locations into the animation. living weapons no description set yet misunderstanding Suggests that a large portion of storyline revolves around a rather large misunderstanding between two or more characters, usually forming long lasting situations of separation or hostility between all those involved.

A large portion of the story may be dedicated to gradually working all parties into a mutual understanding to true intentions or changes of heart. over the top Both the characters and the story in this anime are completely over the top. predominantly female cast The anime features a mostly female cast, i.e. male characters are rare.

Example: A Catholic all-girls school setting. ridiculous premise The principal ideas used to set up the overall story are questionable at best, and are difficult to accept as rational.

It seems that the writers involved in this anime were desperate to find a new idea, creating an outlandish story background. Such an irrational plot can become quite irritating. sexual innuendo References to actions and/or situations of an intimate or sexual nature. summer festival The summer festival is used to show off the female protagonists in traditional Japanese clothing — the yukata — a casual form of kimono.

The festivities include food stalls (cotton candy, candy apples, choco bananas, taiyaki), various games (scoop goldfishes), and a fireworks display. swimsuit At least one female character is wearing a swimsuit in this anime. Probably either at the beach or the school`s pool. And if the anime is ecchi the swimsuit will be daring! teacher The story is based around a school teacher. tsundere A character type (usually female), who is often easily agitated or combative, but other times is quite kind and caring, especially in situations involving a person they are (knowingly or unknowingly) attracted to. violent female lead The female main character — though possibly quite cute and "nice" at times — is prone to violent behaviour, usually against some male character(s).

Often quite typical of a `tsundere`. violent retribution for ecchi behaviour One of the central vehicles of slapstick comedy with ecchi elements.

When one char misbehaves, or at least is perceived to do so, he/she gets reprimanded or whacked by another char — typically a tsundere — for ecchi (slightly perverted) behaviour. In this case it is *not* a reaction to *accidental* infringement, like tripping into cleavage.

As Asu no Yoichi! shows, the supposed "ecchi behaviour" of the male protagonist can also be over-interpreted by a tsundere. E.g. getting whacked for a nosebleed, when looking at a cute girl. yuri subtext Actions between two female characters that could be taken as or misinterpreted as being amorous in nature.
