Tono to Issho is a Anime adaptation of Ohba-Kai\'s Tono to Issho 4-panel gag manga that follows the humorous exploits of generals during Japan\'s tumultuous sengoku (Era of the Warring States) period.

Also it`s quite common to release manga and anime versions of a story in parallel, for instance Nadesico and Shoujo Kakumei Utena. There are also cases where an anime continues in a manga, or reverse, as in the case of Angel Beats! and Angel Beats: Heaven`s Door.
Parody
Anime that imitate other stories (can be from TV, film, books, historical events, ...) for comic effect by exaggerating the style and changing the content of the original. Also known as spoofs. It can also refer to when whole elements of one work are lifted out of their context and reused.
Samurai
The samurai were the military nobility in pre-industrial Japan.
By the end of the 12th century, samurai became almost entirely synonymous with bushi (武士).
The samurai followed a set of written rules called the Bushidou.
Samurai teachings can still be found today in modern day society with the martial art Kendou, meaning the way of the sword.
This Anime will include one or more sword-carrying/wielding warriors.
