Due to the pollution of the oceans, Squid Girl has come from the depths to subjugate humanity. However, at the initial invasion point, she accidentally destroys the beach hut Lemon. Unrealistically attractive female characters are also common (see fanservice), but are not a requirement. The art style of shounen also tends to be less flowery than that of shoujo. Slapstick Slapstick humour is generally recognized by lots of physical abuse, horseplay and practical jokes. Also often seen are impossible situations, using sounds to illustrate impossible stunts that aren`t shown on-screen and to create tension for audience anticipation.
