The second incarnation of the very popular NARUTO anime. It covers Part II of the manga storyline which takes place two years after Part I (which ends with the Sasuke Retrieval arc, episodes 107–135 of the first TV series). The anime chronology differs from the manga as the Shippuuden series happens two and a half years after the end of the first Naruto series.
The story revolves mainly around Uzumaki Naruto's and Haruno Sakura's new adventures and their search for Uchiha Sasuke after he left Konoha-gakure (Leaf Village) to gain Orochimaru's power. The plot also shows a more active Akatsuki in their quest for obtaining all the tailed beasts.
After his failed attempt to retrieve Sasuke, Naruto learns that circumstances have granted him slightly less than three years to prepare for a confrontation with Orochimaru, who has to wait that much time before he can transfer into Sasuke's body. Naruto also must prepare for his eventual confrontation with Akatsuki, who are after the demon sealed within him. To prepare, Naruto leaves the village and undergoes intensive training under Jiraiya. At the same time, Sakura becomes Tsunade's apprentice, and Sasuke trains under Orochimaru. Thus, all three members of the original Team 7 are now training under one of the Legendary Sannin.
Categories Action Action anime usually involve a fairly straightforward story of good guys versus bad guys, where most disputes are resolved by using physical force. It often contains a lot of shooting, explosions and fighting. Demons Often described as minions from Hell. Generally known to attack humans and feast on their flesh or possess the bodies of those with weak souls. Fantasy World A fantasy world is a type of imaginary world, part of a fictional universe. Typical worlds involve, but are not limited to magic or magical abilities and a medieval theme. Some worlds may be a parallel world tenuously connected to Earth via magical portals or items; a fictional Earth set in the remote past or future; or an entirely independent world set in another universe. Many fantasy worlds draw heavily on real world history, geography and sociology, and also on folklore. Martial Arts Characterized by extensive fighting scenes employing various types of martial arts, meaning systems of codified practices and traditions of training for combat. Ninjas A ninja is a kind of spy or assassin who lived in Japan beginning in the 14th century. They are usually clad in black to aid their secret mission and to be able to hide in the dark, although some ninja prefer to wear orange jumpsuits and be noisy. Ninja are also attributed many abilities far above those of the average human. Original Work: Manga Manga is the lifeblood that drives the anime industry. Everything and its mother is based on manga. However! There are exceptions where the manga was not the basis for the anime. It`s common practice to make manga adaptations of many popular anime, there`s a manga based on Evangelion, and two (one shounen and one shoujo) based on each of Escaflowne and Mahou Tsukai Tai. Also it`s quite common to release manga and anime versions of a story in parallel, for instance Nadesico and Shoujo Kakumei Utena. There are also cases where an anime continues in a manga, or reverse, as in the case of Angel Beats! and Angel Beats: Heaven`s Door. Plot Continuity Consistency of the characteristics of persons, plot, objects, places and events seen by the viewer. A single linear focused plot is highly continuous. A truly random plot is highly discontinuous. Shounen A style of anime and manga intended for boys, characterized by high-action, often humorous plots featuring male protagonists. The camaraderie between boys or men on sports teams, fighting squads, etc. is often emphasized. Unrealistically attractive female characters are also common (see fanservice), but are not a requirement. The art style of shounen also tends to be less flowery than that of shoujo. Super Power Be it an ancient Greek Hercules, a cybernetic muscle-man, or a fourteen year-old girl in a mini-skirted sailor suit. As long as they have super powers, they`re in the show. Tags adaptation decay The anime is negatively different compared to its source (manga, novel, ...). bonds no description set yet call my name "TETSUOOOOOO!!" "KANEDAAAAAA!!" "TAMAHOMEEEE!!" "MIAKAAAA!!"
Feelings of any kind towards other characters are best shown by calling each other`s name, loud, REALLY LOUD. For better effect at least twice or thrice. For lover`s couples and mortal enemies it is a requirement to run towards each other while calling each other`s name, unaware of the surroundings. calling your attacks "GIGAAAAAA DRIIIIIILLL BREAKEEEEEERRR"
Having a special attack is always a must but not impressive enough. Every special attack needs a name. A really awesome and outstanding name which is easy to remember and even easier and impressive to yell. Because it just is not enough to name your attack. No, to unleash the full power of your attack, you have to call its name in your most MANLY and LOUDEST voice.
It does not matter whether it is a martial arts move, a magical spell or flying drills from your mecha, if you can`t call its name, it just isn`t nearly as cool or effective. Not a requirement but wearing shades while calling your attack makes it at least twice as cool, moreover giving your mecha or magical companion shades too results in an immeasurable level of awesomeness, bringing down every enemy just through the POWER OF YOUR VOICE.
A standard feature of practically every mecha, mahou shoujo, high fantasy, or martial arts anime. constant flashbacks This show features a constant amount of flashbacks this can have multiple causes and reasons ranging from lack of material (the anime has caught up with the manga that it was based on) or plot holes that have been abandoned for some time are now being revisited and in order to make it comprehensible flashbacks are used to reveal what happened earlier on in the show.
This is prominently featured in anime such as Naruto, Dragon Ball Z and Bleach. The flashbacks are not just typical flashbacks, in most cases entire episodes are shown and only 5 minutes worth of actual new storyline is shown. demonic power no description set yet deus ex machina When the story has been spun so wildly and the plot has been driven so deeply, when all resources are exhausted and the linear truth stands so proudly at the end of the road, ready to bring the never-ending adventure to its epic conclusion... The writers kick you in the behind and say "Screw that!! Suddenly... UFO`s!!! No, wait, Werewolf UFO`s!!! Bet you didn`t see that coming!"
It`s the old-Greek form of solving your broken story because it was too much work to do it all over again, or you`ve already shown stuff that compromises what you wanted to do. It`s finding out about a better dragon on a whole different planet because you`ve already been revived 3 times and that`s the cap. It`s breaking a spaceship and "oh wait, there`s an exact copy built in secret by an unknown guy on the other side of the planet, and you can use it free of charge". It`s Doraemon`s pouch, on every single episode. fighting For some reason or other one faction has to take it out on some opponent via fight or battle. Typical examples of this are all the anime with "endless pointless fighting" tag. fillers Describes episodes, usually within a long-running series, that break away from the base story. Primary focus could remain on the main protagonist(s), but may often shift the spotlight to secondary characters. The events and developments usually contain little to no relevance to the main storyline (or absolutely no relevance at all).
Fillers may often coincide with "side stories", which by much disappoint by fans (though occasionally highly dependant on content), may span several episodes. While this is a dreaded fate of the perpetual ongoing, such may also just as disappointingly exist in series that only run one season. flashback The characters remember things from their past triggering a flashback. The anime either repeats scenes from previous episodes (danger of too many "fillers"), or actually shows new footage from very old memories. heterochromia Heterochromia Iridis is a medical condition, where an individual has at least an eye with more than one colour or two eyes of entirely different colours.
However, in most anime characters with different eye-colour may not necessarily have the medical condition itself, as the state of different-coloured eyes can be caused by various other reasons such as possession by spiritual entities, indication of special powers or artificial changes.
Can also describe instances of portraying everyday scenery with unusual colours to draw attention or set a certain mood. Ino-Shika-Chou The most remarkable card combination in the Hanafuda card game Koi Koi. Ino-Shika-Chou means boar-deer-butterfly, and is referenced in a small amount of anime and manga. long speeches Usually found in shows where either the main protagonist or the villain feel a need to elaborate every single thing that pops up in their mind, often ending up in an entire episode filled with an unending speech where tension is supposed to build up before a big fight only revealing that after the speech the episode itself is over. perpetual ongoing No end in sight! No matter what the genre may be or what the storyline consists of, this series just keeps on going... and going... and going...
Some examples: One Piece, Naruto, Bleach, Detective Conan, Dragon Ball ( Z ), Pocket Monsters (Pokemon). stupid main character The protagonist of this series exhibits a `special` sort of intelligence. Be it the inability to comprehend even the most simple of situations, or the lack of common sense found in even a preschooler, the main character of this anime never ceases to amaze both the show`s characters and audience at their idiocy. summoning Instances when a character calls-forth things of which they command to perform or assist with certain tasks or take place in battles. Most summons respond to the summoner as their master.
Summoning is common in "proxy battle" titles, where various creatures or robots/mechs are the most called upon. teamwork A cooperative effort by the members of a group or team to achieve a common goal. timeout available Even in the middle of battle, lengthy discussions and planning sessions occur, while the opponents presumably stand around and take a coffee break. timeskip The plot features at least one skip or jump in time.
Example: A skip from the present into the past, or time skips in increments, e.g. every hour there is a timeskip by a day. too many recaps Either to give the audience that missed a few episodes another chance to catch up on the overall "long-winding" story, or simply to save some production costs, this anime repeatedly reuses previously broadcast material (see "fillers").
Since such recap episodes rarely add new material, the viewer will normally not be amused. training no description set yet Weekly Shounen Jump Weekly Shounen Jump is a Japanese manga magazine, released on weekly basis, features various mangas and targets a young male audience.
Add this tag when the anime bases on a manga and that manga was serialized in this magazine.
