Based on a shoujo manga by Shiina Karuho, serialised in Bessatsu Margaret. Kuronuma Sawako is the perfect heroine... for a horror movie. With her jet-black hair, sinister smile and silent demeanor, she's often mistaken for the haunting movie character Sadako. But behind her scary facade is a very misunderstood teenager. Too shy to fit in, all she wants to do is make some friends. But when a popular boy in class befriends her, she's sure to make more than just that--she's about to make some enemies too!

Daily Life The antics of the protagonists do not take place in some exotic setting or time, but in everyday life. When not "at the job" this means getting up in the morning, making meals, house cleaning, going shopping or out to eat, visiting the bath house or spa, leisure activities in the spare time, etc. The time "on the job" for students is School Life, for others working in their profession. Daily Life is basically a synonym for everything normal, repetitive, and trivial happening to your average person. Earth That big mud ball that most of us live on. Anime centre on High School settings predominately: Plot/story-wise the coming of age is of interest - the students are almost adults (their bodies have matured, see ecchi anime) with more earnest, real-life problems. A truly random plot is highly discontinuous. Romance Romance describes a story that deals with love between two or more characters typically also having an optimistic ending. Shoujo A style of anime and manga intended for girls which may have some crossover appeal to boys as well. Super Deformed A caricature style often seen in anime when the character shows extreme emotions, like fear, anger, happiness, surprise, or shame. Seen as cute, as part of humorous comedy. The character`s face suddenly turns into a simplified version, the body will usually also deform into that of a small child (oversized head, short limbs, extra-large tears). This has nothing to do with any karaoke effects and styling individual subbers may have added. great opening This anime contains a wonderful use of animation and/or vocals during the opening theme. heart-warming The story and its characters give off good vibes — includes elevated feelings of affection such as tenderness, sympathy and love, all in one package.

The kind of anime which leaves you with a warm feeling inside and you can not stop smiling while watching it. immature teacher Contains one or more teachers who are more childish and irresponsible than the kids they teach. incomplete manga adaptation For some reason, the original manga was only partially adapted into this anime. makes you laugh and cry While watching this series you can expect moments when you fall off your chair laughing, and moments when you will be thankful that there is a pack of tissues nearby. It`s worth mentioning that tears can be caused by touching/drama moments (e.g. Clannad, Hanada Shounen Shi) or "mighty"/overwhelming moments (One Piece). outstanding backgrounds The backgrounds are breathtakingly detailed, colourful and realistic. Lights and shadows, reflections and surfaces have been crafted to create believable sceneries that are stunningly beautiful. overlapping ED music Part of the ending theme music plays during the show, rather than being entirely contained in the repetitive ending video. tear jerker Parts of the anime are so emotionally moving or sad that they bring tears to your eyes. two-faced Pure. Innocent. Beautiful. They`re often the type everyone looks up to... too bad she (or he) has a strong negative side hiding under that shiny shell of complexion perfection. unfoundedly feared character Due to some strange misunderstanding, or some other unfounded reason the character in the anime is feared by his contemporaries.
