Based on a light novel series by Nishino Katsumi, with illustrations by Koin.The story revolves around Oyamada Kouta, a young first-year high school student who moves from the country to the city and transfers to Kunpou High School. On his first day at his new school, a second-year female student named Minamoto Chizuru asks him to meet her alone in the music room. When he arrives, she tries to seduce him — and reveals that she is a fox deity. When Kouta keeps this a secret, she decides that he is her destined partner. From that day on, she never leaves his side, nor will she skip a chance to practice anything ecchi with him — whether he likes it or not.But then a first-year female student by the name of Ezomori Nozomu arrives at Kouta's school, who, incidentally, also falls in love with Kouta. Kouta becomes much more involved in the world of deities, especially after Nozomu reveals that she is also a deity...

Asia Asia is the world`s largest and most populous continent. Boing The sound breasts make when they bounce. Size may vary, but mainly involves larger breasts in tight or otherwise sexy clothing. Japanese humour can be a bit strange to westerners, so if you`re new to this type of humour, just bear with it; it`ll most likely grow on you if you`re a fan of other kinds of comedy. Coming of Age In the strict sense the Coming of age describes a young person`s transition from adolescence to adulthood. In anime the term is used in a more general sense where the protagonists have to face a challenge, make an important decision in their life, take on responsibility, or learn a lesson, and by overcoming these obstacles they reach a higher level of maturity. Demons Often described as minions from Hell. Generally known to attack humans and feast on their flesh or possess the bodies of those with weak souls. Earth That big mud ball that most of us live on. Ecchi Ecchi, or etchi (エッチ), is a common Japanese word meaning “indecent”, “lewd”, “frisky” or “sexy”, while its usage can be compared to the word “naughty”. The term is used when vague sexual content, such as skimpy clothing or nudity, is prominent. Goddesses A goddess is a female deity. Harem Harem anime is when three or more females that for some reason are in the presence of one male as a central plot element. Generally, both the girls` looks and personalities vary a lot, and most of them are interested in the one guy. Sometimes, none of the girls are really interested at first, so the protagonist has to build relationships with them. Ecchi pretty much can`t be avoided, and it`s typical to see the protagonist stamped as a pervert by some of the girls, whether he is one or not. A lot of harem anime were originally Visual Novels, since most Visual Novels revolve around controlling this one guy, trying to build a relationship with several girls.
In a story where there is one female and several good looking males it`s a "reverse harem" or "male harem". High School The upper-secondary education (not compulsory in Japan) covers the grades ten, eleven, and twelve. The students are typically fifteen to eighteen years old.
Anime centre on High School settings predominately: Plot/story-wise the coming of age is of interest - the students are almost adults (their bodies have matured, see ecchi anime) with more earnest, real-life problems. Japan Last stronghold for humanity, if Tokyo falls, it`s all over. Tokyo Tower will undoubtedly fall anyway. Juujin Juujin are characters that are otherwise human, but have some animal characteristics, like animal ears and/or a tail. The most well known type is a cat girl, but there are also cat boys, dog girls/boys, fox girls/boys etc. This category should not be confused with furry fandom or with anthropomorphic character types in general, as those are animals with human characteristics.
This category isn`t restricted to ecchi and hentai shows. Large Breasts Focus on larger than average breasts. Pretty common in anime. Usually involves adolescent girls or fully grown women. Lolicon Loli is a short form of the word Lolita, describing sexually precocious young girls. The related fetish for this is called Lolicon (Lolita Complex). Love Polygon A love polygon refers to a romantic relationship involving n people. Although a love triangle is not limited to just heterosexual relationships, in anime, it usually deals with two females liking one male and vice versa. Original Work: Novel Note that novel means book with words in paper, so no comics and no "visual novels", which should go under manga and dating-sim - visual Novel/erotic game respectively.
Note that it can be applied to novels as we know them but also the typical light novels for teens and young adults, which are common in Japan and aside from being short include a number of illustrations. Romance Romance describes a story that deals with love between two or more characters typically also having an optimistic ending. Romance is also a difficulty encountered when creating a harem. Seinen A subset of anime or manga that is generally targeted at a 18 - 25 year old male audience, but the audience can be much older with some manga aimed at businessmen well into their 40s. Sexual Abuse Sexual abuse (also referred to as molestation) is defined as the forcing of undesired sexual acts by one person to another. Different types of sexual abuse involve:
Non-consensual, forced physical sexual behaviour such as rape or sexual assault;
Psychological forms of abuse, such as verbal sexual behaviour or stalking;
The use of a position of trust for sexual purposes;
Incest, when it is coerced by force or emotional manipulation.
The font size (category weight) for this category is meant to show the "worst" scene in given anime, on-screen rape or sexual assault would be the biggest font size (weight of ***), verbal sexual abuse or stalking (non-comedy scenario) would be the smallest font size (weight of ).
This category is only meant for non-hentai animations, hentai animations have the Rape category. Shotacon Shota, describing sexually precocious young boys. The related fetish for this is called Shotacon (Shoutarou Complex). Slapstick Slapstick humour is generally recognized by lots of physical abuse, horseplay and practical jokes. Also often seen are impossible situations, using sounds to illustrate impossible stunts that aren`t shown on-screen and to create tension for audience anticipation. Small Breasts Focus on flat-chested (pettanko) to slightly protruding breasts, often so mockingly or humorously. Usually involves children or adolescent girls. Stereotypes Then there is the question of the character set presentation. Is it completely original, or is it your usual stereotypical character cast. Both choices have their merit, for example it would not really make much sense to reinvent the wheel for a harem anime. Fans of that genre come to expect their favourite stereotype protagonists. Sudden Girlfriend Appearance Sudden Girlfriend Appearance anime involve a sudden change in the main character`s life where (s)he suddenly gets confronted with an individual (s)he`s sexually attracted to, the two of them inevitably becoming a couple. animal ears Human or humanoid characters have ears of animals as their natural set of ears or as a part of their costume. annoying male lead The lead male protagonist, possibly the centre of a harem, seems to show several quite annoying character traits. beach episode Also known as umi episode. Every anime has to have them, episodes in which the characters for whatever reason end up going to the sea, ocean, random island or the local pond.
Usually used for fanservice purpose as it gives the staff the opportunity to draw the characters in swimsuits and raise the DVD sales.
The cheap version is the pool episode.
Other marginally less used variants of this are the onsen episode and the sentou episode, used when it is too cold for a beach/pool episode. boobs in your face The protagonists face is pressed into a female`s cleavage. This may be accidental, or actually intended by the female character. borderline hentai Breaks the bounds of "excessive fanservice".
While the physical interactions and dialogue between characters may be extremely sexual, the most sexual situations do *not* have sex itself take place.
Specifically descriptive of containing all the plentiful features of (excessive) fanservice in addition to the interactions between characters being quite sexual — at most, sexual in NATURE only. This means physical touching such as groping, molesting, or bondage will focus primarily on the revealed (i.e. nude) upper portion of the body or through/over clothing on the lower half of the body. This is all WITHOUT actual sex acts (penetration, etc.) taking place. excessive fanservice Content that may be suggestive yet generally pleasing will be found in abundance. Usually this is the premise of something borderline-hentai with a large amount of strong sexual themes but without any actual sex-acts taking place.

Differing from "Super Deformed", here only the face changes to an extreme degree, not the whole body of the protagonist. fox no description set yet furry Furry is a slang describing characters that have an animal-like appearance, but walk on two legs and act like humans. gattai Gattai is when two fighting spirits collide and unite, when a man`s soul is ablaze!
When you are about to get your asses kicked by the big bad evil, it`s time to show your true fighting spirit and gattai, literally combine with your mecha to become at least ten times as powerful and kick the big bad evil`s ass. guy shorter than girl He is short, she is tall, it`s destiny. This anime incorporates elements of this folklore. no storyline This anime contains no goal-driven activity for the characters to pursue. nude DVD specials This anime`s DVD release features extras that are not present in the original TV series/OVA, e.g. this includes added nudity. onsen episode An onsen is a term for hot springs in the Japanese language, though the term is often used to describe the bathing facilities and inns around the hot springs. Often the cast of a show somehow ends up going to an onsen because of various reasons, such as winning a lottery ticket.

If this is not meant as a comedy element, then it will most likely be a female villain. poor boy A young male character is financially in dire straits. Since Japan is a rich country, this is often a form of "hidden" poverty — a poverty that can not be admitted. If not financial, the protagonist may still have to endure other hardship. sexually aggressive female One or more female characters attempt to initiate sexual activity with another character. This is a reversal of the normally depicted male as initiator. sexy female character There is an exceptionally attractive female character on the show. spanking no description set yet spirits Spirits will appear throughout this anime. These will often be depicted as small orbs of glowing light, or transparent images of the deceased.
Not to be mistaken with "I see dead people", these spirits will usually appear at the location of their departure when the characters have gotten close to the truth surrounding their death. Or as plot element, when a spirit will often stay close to a character as a sort of "Guardian Angel". Although they are never actually seen, their presence is sometimes felt. TV censoring The TV version is censored and later DVD/BD releases are uncensored, so the money-grubbing capitalists can make a couple more bucks at our expense. youkai Youkai are a class of obake, creatures in Japanese folklore ranging from the evil oni (ogre) to the mischievous kitsune (fox) or snow woman Yuki-onna. Some possess part animal and part human features (e.g. Kappa and Tengu). Youkai generally have a sort of spiritual or supernatural power, and so encounters with human beings tend to be dangerous.
