Furo are part of the Japanese ritual of bathing, not used for washing but for relaxing and warming oneself. In rare cases do all three involved end up coming to terms that includes all three in the final relationship. Ultimately, the final result leaves one of the three excluded.

Should not be confused with a ménage à trois. parental abandonment In Japan it is a common custom for parents to leave their children alone at home and embark on a lifelong trip around the world once they hit the tender age of 14, sometimes even earlier. rural town The rural town is one that is either isolated from what is considered "normal" society or is so far from the city that there is not a lot of buildings. Some rural towns don`t have the technology of the city (and some want it that way) while other just seem to be behind the times. Most of these town have some sort of farming culture or inn culture.

Sometimes the town is rural as to delay help from getting there sooner for more horror genre anime. secret identity The (usually main) protagonist has a secret identity that he or she desperately tries to keep secret.

This can lead to all sorts of amusing misunderstandings, thus is used as comedy element in some anime. spacing out A comedy element: The character starts to daydream or fantasize about some topic. The typical complete lack of reality makes the spacing out funny. Especially when the protagonist mumbles to himself / herself and friends hear this. Promptly teasing the possibly lovestruck and very embarrassed protagonist. transfer student If the anime has a school setting, chances are good that a transfer student (male or female) will appear. tsundere A character type (usually female), who is often easily agitated or combative, but other times is quite kind and caring, especially in situations involving a person they are (knowingly or unknowingly) attracted to. under one roof For some flimsy reason the main protagonist (e.g. male in harem / female in reverse-harem) is living together with many other (female/male) characters under the same roof, i.e. apartment, house, or mansion.
