It's the refreshing season of early summer. Deep in the lonely mountains, surrounded by endless nature, the secluded male reform school "Hane no Oto" Campus is located. Among the illustrious students, meet the "Baka Trio" (Idiotic Trio): The motivated spirit "Bachigoo", your typical idiot "Ichibansei", and the big guy "Tenjin". Not to forget the obligatory average main character Takasaki Yuusuke.
Worrying about his campus life, disaster strikes! Before boys and girls can attend classes together, an evaluation period was required, allowing high school girls to visit the all-boys campus. Of course the Baka Trio hears of the "female invasion" first, and is appropriately exited. However... faced with the unknown opposite sex from the city, they don't know how they should approach them. And so... eventually a bus-load of girls arrives at the campus.
"Yuusuke-kun!"
One of the exuberant female students, Chitose Midori, exclaims exiting the bus, greeting the dumbfounded Yuusuke. Their eyes meet, and the girl hugs Yuusuke severely... but who is this strange girl?

Asia Asia is the world`s largest and most populous continent. Boing The sound breasts make when they bounce. Size may vary, but mainly involves larger breasts in tight or otherwise sexy clothing. Partial or complete exposure may occur, usually emphasizing the boing-effect as they come out. Not capable of bouncing means no boing. Comedy Anime whose central struggle causes hilarious results. These stories are built upon funny characters, situations and events. A comedy anime is laced with humour and sets out to provoke laughter from the audience.
Japanese humour can be a bit strange to westerners, so if you`re new to this type of humour, just bear with it; it`ll most likely grow on you if you`re a fan of other kinds of comedy. Coming of Age In the strict sense the Coming of age describes a young person`s transition from adolescence to adulthood. In anime the term is used in a more general sense where the protagonists have to face a challenge, make an important decision in their life, take on responsibility, or learn a lesson, and by overcoming these obstacles they reach a higher level of maturity. Earth That big mud ball that most of us live on. Ecchi Ecchi, or etchi (エッチ), is a common Japanese word meaning “indecent”, “lewd”, “frisky” or “sexy”, while its usage can be compared to the word “naughty”. The term is used when vague sexual content, such as skimpy clothing or nudity, is prominent. Harem Harem anime is when three or more females that for some reason are in the presence of one male as a central plot element. Generally, both the girls` looks and personalities vary a lot, and most of them are interested in the one guy. Sometimes, none of the girls are really interested at first, so the protagonist has to build relationships with them. Ecchi pretty much can`t be avoided, and it`s typical to see the protagonist stamped as a pervert by some of the girls, whether he is one or not. A lot of harem anime were originally Visual Novels, since most Visual Novels revolve around controlling this one guy, trying to build a relationship with several girls.
In a story where there is one female and several good looking males it`s a "reverse harem" or "male harem". Japan Last stronghold for humanity, if Tokyo falls, it`s all over. Tokyo tower will undoubtedly fall anyway. Large Breasts Focus on larger than average breasts. Pretty common in anime. Usually involves adolescent girls or fully grown women. Middle School Also referred to as junior high school (or lower-secondary education; compulsory in Japan) covers the grades seven, eight, and nine. The students are typically twelve to fifteen years old.
Anime with school setting centre on Middle School students when younger, possibly more naive and `innocent` (less worldly wise) characters are required. Nudity Nudity is the state of wearing no clothing and exposing the bare skin or intimate parts.
Especially gratuitous fanservice shows tend to show their characters frequently without any clothes, though often hiding genitals through the means of additions like steam. Original Work: Dating Sim - Visual Novel The two terms are similar yet different, however, the fact that they look and `feel` the same outweighs the technical differences. For clarification, visual novels are considered a sub-genre of adventure games and the term does not cover simulations. While the two genres often share a common visual presentation, dating sims are sometimes considered to be more statistically based than the "choose your own adventure" style of visual novels; basically, the choices you make might change something else than just the story arc (or your next porn pic). Dating sims can involve several technical elements such as a time limit, several statistics such as looks and charm which can be boosted through exercise, or an "attraction meter" which can increase or decrease depending on one`s decisions. Original Work: Erotic Game An erotic game (eroge) is a Japanese video or computer game that features erotic content, usually in the form of anime-style artwork. In English, eroge are often called hentai games in keeping with the English slang definition of hentai. This is sometimes shortened to H games. In Japan, eroge are also referred to as 18 games. Most erotic games are visual novels or dating sims but are not limited to them.
Any anime adaptation of a game that contains (or had a version than contains) adult content (generally sex scenes), regardless of how some fanboys blabber on how "the story in that visual novel was too good to be labelled as porn!", should definitely get this category added under them. This should make it pretty clear as to what is an erotic game and what is not. Original Work: Game Based on an interactive (even if minimally so) form of entertainment software, generally available for PCs, consoles or arcade machines. Pantsu "Panties" in Japanese. Upskirt views in various positions are typical, however all forms of partial or fully exposed panties are accepted. Exposure is usually accidental, but may also be deliberate. Pantsu views may be exclusive to the viewer without impacting any characters. Bikinis are not pantsu. Plot Continuity Consistency of the characteristics of persons, plot, objects, places and events seen by the viewer.
A single linear focused plot is highly continuous.
A truly random plot is highly discontinuous. Romance Romance describes a story that deals with love between two or more characters typically also having an optimistic ending. Romance is also a difficulty encountered when creating a harem. School Life Since a large part of the anime audience still takes part in school life or is visiting college, it is only natural to choose a setting the audience can identify with, be it elementary, middle, or high school. For the older viewers a college setting with more mature real-life problems is appropriate. And since clubs take up so much time in the lives of students, these are obviously also important. Seinen A subset of anime or manga that is generally targeted at a 18 - 25 year old male audience, but the audience can be much older with some manga aimed at businessmen well into their 40s. Small Breasts Focus on flat-chested (pettanko) to slightly protruding breasts, often so mockingly or humorously. Usually involves children or adolescent girls. Stereotypes Then there is the question of the character set presentation. Is it completely original, or is it your usual stereotypical character cast. Both choices have their merit, for example it would not really make much sense to reinvent the wheel for a harem anime. Fans of that genre come to expect their favourite stereotype protagonists. Sudden Girlfriend Appearance Sudden Girlfriend Appearance anime involve a sudden change in the main character`s life where (s)he suddenly gets confronted with an individual (s)he`s sexually attracted to, the two of them inevitable becoming a couple. Time: Present Somewhere between past and future Violence Physical force against self or other, compelling action against one`s will on pain of being hurt. Violent Retribution for Accidental Infringement A comedy / slapstick element often found in Ecchi anime: The hilarity derives from spontaneous embarrassment, overreaction of the "victim" (girl), immediate retribution for a seemingly inappropriate act, and a sense of pity with the supposed "aggressor" (boy).
Typically a boy will - through no fault of his own - stumble into a girl, thus invading her personal space. In the process the boy may e.g. pull down her skirt, grab the girl`s breasts, or accidentally kiss her. Any level-headed girl would see the accident just for what it is. Not so the girl with an overly developed sense of modesty, and a thing for violence. She - often a tsundere - will clobber the boy with excessive brutality.

annoying sidekick At least one of the side characters is persistently annoying in this anime. befriend attack One character practically "pounces a hug" on another character.
Used as comedy element (slapstick) to demonstrate the exuberant affection of the (usually female) "pouncing" protagonist. countryside The anime takes place far from the any densely populated areas like cities, i.e. out in the suburbs, in the countryside with many fields and forests. cross-dressing Describes a person who takes on the role of their opposite gender, physically involving appearance and clothing only. The cross-dressing person, usually intending to keep their true identity secret for a long duration of time, tends to become well adapt in portraying their disguise, for example in voice, action/reaction, likes/dislikes, movements, etc. fanservice `Fan Service` typically consists of a variety of racy or sexual content — usually female but sometimes male — aimed to catch the viewer`s attention, with something suggestive and generally `pleasing to the eyes`. More often than not this involves nudity, yet can simply have to do with panty shots / flashing of undergarments, bathing suits, the jiggling of breasts, or other such eye candy.
While the term is used primarily with respect to Japanese animation, any gratuitous content within entertainment may be considered to be `fan service`. fanservice detracting from story The ecchi moments in this anime, e.g. weird camera angles or overly skimpy clothing, get in the way of the story, actually reducing the overall enjoyment. forest An area heavily covered by (large) trees. Ideal to hide creepy creatures in, and a place to easily get lost in as well. gloomy rain Rain is used as a mirror of the character`s gloomy feelings, setting a mildly depressing mood in the anime. men vs women The all-out struggle between the sexes. Usually used as a comedy set up, for outrageously weird and absurd situations. perverted guy At least one of the male protagonists seems to have a few screws loose when it comes to the other gender: Perverted behaviour ranges from voyeurism to what you could call sexual harassment. predominantly female cast The anime features a mostly female cast, i.e. male characters are rare.
Example: A Catholic all-girls school setting. reincarnation One of the protagonists was reborn in another body. school festival The obligatory school festival (or cultural fair) with cosplay cafe, haunted house, theatre performance, and food booths can not be missing in any school setting.
For good measure there may also be an athletics or sports festival in this anime. sense of foreboding The anime starts off quietly, everything seems to be fine, but from episode to episode the signs that something ominous is about to happen increase. E.g. a typical mystery setting. shameless behaviour The char does not show any shame, e.g. public display of nudity or inappropriate use of words. sister complex Excessive love for one’s sister(s), often past the point of an ordinary brother-sister/sister-sister relation. Usually used as a tease/insult for a person, who is overly protective of his/her sister, and is shortened to ‘sis con’ or ‘sis-con’. skimpy clothing The characters are wearing skimpy clothing (short dresses, underwear, or otherwise revealing clothing) for no apparent reason.
This is *not* job related, like a superhero outfit, differing from the Tag: "skimpy clothing most fit for the job". spacing out A comedy element: The character starts to daydream or fantasize about some topic. The typical complete lack of reality makes the spacing out funny. Especially when the protagonist mumbles to himself / herself and friends hear this. Promptly teasing the possibly lovestruck and very embarrassed protagonist. test of courage As part of a summer excursion or festival, an anime with school setting may also have a "test of courage" (or "kimodameshi" in Japanese), where the male and female students are paired up (by lottery) to retrieve a "charm" by passing though a "haunted house" or a scary forest at night. tsundere A character type (usually female), who is often easily agitated or combative, but other times is quite kind and caring, especially in situations involving a person they are (knowingly or unknowingly) attracted to. violent retribution for ecchi behaviour One of the central vehicles of slapstick comedy with ecchi elements.
When one char misbehaves, or at least is perceived to do so, he/she gets reprimanded or whacked by another char — typically a tsundere — for ecchi (slightly perverted) behaviour. In this case it is *not* a reaction to *accidental* infringement, like tripping into cleavage.
As Asu no Yoichi! shows, the supposed "ecchi behaviour" of the male protagonist can also be over-interpreted by a tsundere. E.g. getting whacked for a nosebleed, when looking at a cute girl. vulgar at times Dialogues turn from banal daily trivia to vulgar adult (usually sexual) themes. Could also be applied to the actions of the characters, e.g. "mooning". zettai ryouiki Japanese for "absolute area", and refers to an area of bare skin on the legs between a skirt and knee- or thigh-high stockings.
