Now, one more alien has arrived on Earth. One of the universe's foremost geniuses with a personality that's bound to attract all sorts of trouble.

Aliens An extraterrestrial life-form, possibly intelligent and/or extremely threatening. Aliens come in all shapes and sizes: They may be ethereal beings as in "Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within", quite humanoid as most of the female space-faring cast in "Tenchi Muyou! GXP", or totally incomprehensible as in "Gantz". Not the sky is the limit, but the anime author`s imagination. Baseball [b]Baseball[/b] is like a complicated version of Rounders. It involves hitting a ball with a stick, then running around several bases placed in the form of a diamond on a field. Big in the US, and also in Japan. Bishounen Young man whose beauty (and sexual appeal) transcends the boundary of gender or sexual orientation. Comedy Anime whose central struggle causes hilarious results. These stories are built upon funny characters, situations and events. A comedy anime is laced with humour and sets out to provoke laughter from the audience.
Japanese humour can be a bit strange to westerners, so if you`re new to this type of humour, just bear with it; it`ll most likely grow on you if you`re a fan of other kinds of comedy. Humanoid Humanoids are aliens, intelligent beings who do not originate from Earth, but have a striking similarity to humans or at least show the basic body layout, i.e. two arms and legs, head with two eyes and ears, one nose and mouth. Though the latter - head-related features - may vary. As "DearS" shows some aliens actually exhibit super-human beauty, or as in the case of "Onegai Teacher" they are genetically compatible to humans for some strange reason. Middle School Also referred to as junior high school (or lower-secondary education; compulsory in Japan) covers the grades seven, eight, and nine. The students are typically twelve to fifteen years old.
Anime with school setting centre on Middle School students when younger, possibly more naive and `innocent` (less worldly wise) characters are required. Original Work: Manga Manga is the lifeblood that drives the anime industry. Everything and its mother is based on manga. However! There are exceptions where the manga was not the basis for the anime.
It`s common practice to make manga adaptations of many popular anime, there`s a manga based on Evangelion, and two (one shounen and one shoujo) based on each of Escaflowne and Mahou Tsukai Tai. Also it`s quite common to release manga and anime versions of a story in parallel, for instance Nadesico and Shoujo Kakumei Utena. There are also cases where an anime continues in a manga, or reverse, as in the case of Angel Beats! and Angel Beats: Heaven`s Door. Plot Continuity Consistency of the characteristics of persons, plot, objects, places and events seen by the viewer.
A single linear focused plot is highly continuous.
A truly random plot is highly discontinuous. School Life Since a large part of the anime audience still takes part in school life or is visiting college, it is only natural to choose a setting the audience can identify with, be it elementary, middle, or high school. For the older viewers a college setting with more mature real-life problems is appropriate. And since clubs take up so much time in the lives of students, these are obviously also important. SciFi Science fiction stories usually focus on how situations could be different in the future when we are more technologically advanced; due to either our own achievements or having met with other civilizations whom we have learned from. Shounen A style of anime and manga intended for boys, characterized by high-action, often humorous plots featuring male protagonists. The camaraderie between boys or men on sports teams, fighting squads, etc. is often emphasized. Unrealistically attractive female characters are also common (see fanservice), but are not a requirement. The art style of shounen also tends to be less flowery than that of shoujo.
