Based on a light novel series written by Kimura Shin'ichi and illustrated by Kobuichi and Muririn.
The story centers around a lazy high school boy named Aikawa Ayumu who gets killed during a spate of mysterious serial killings. However, Ayumu is resurrected as a zombie by a necromancer girl named Yuu, who Ayumu had just met before dying. Ayumu reawakens in a world surrounded by masou shoujo (magically equipped girls) and vampire ninja. Ayumu is assigned the duties of a masou shoujo by a magical warrior girl named Haruna.

Comedy Anime whose central struggle causes hilarious results. These stories are built upon funny characters, situations and events. A comedy anime is laced with humour and sets out to provoke laughter from the audience.
Japanese humour can be a bit strange to westerners, so if you`re new to this type of humour, just bear with it; it`ll most likely grow on you if you`re a fan of other kinds of comedy. Contemporary Fantasy Magic and supernatural beings exist secretly in what is generally regarded as the real world. Such elements may have originated from another world. Stories where a modern-day character travels to an alternate fantasy world are not considered contemporary fantasy. Harem Harem anime is when three or more females that for some reason are in the presence of one male as a central plot element. Generally, both the girls` looks and personalities vary a lot, and most of them are interested in the one guy. Sometimes, none of the girls are really interested at first, so the protagonist has to build relationships with them. Ecchi pretty much can`t be avoided, and it`s typical to see the protagonist stamped as a pervert by some of the girls, whether he is one or not. A lot of harem anime were originally Visual Novels, since most Visual Novels revolve around controlling this one guy, trying to build a relationship with several girls.
In a story where there is one female and several good looking males it`s a "reverse harem" or "male harem". Lolicon Loli is a short form of the word Lolita, describing sexually precocious young girls. The related fetish for this is called Lolicon (Lolita Complex). Mahou Shoujo Magical girls (known in Japan as majokko, and in the West as mahou shoujo) refers to young girls with superhuman abilities, usually involving magic and transformations. Nudity Nudity is the state of wearing no clothing and exposing the bare skin or intimate parts.
Especially gratuitous fanservice shows tend to show their characters frequently without any clothes, though often hiding genitals through the means of additions like steam. Original Work: Novel Note that novel means book with words in paper, so no comics and no "visual novels", which should go under manga and dating-sim - visual Novel/erotic game respectively.
Note that it can be applied to novels as we know them but also the typical light novels for teens and young adults, which are common in Japan and aside from being short include a number of illustrations. Pantsu "Panties" in Japanese. Upskirt views in various positions are typical, however all forms of partial or fully exposed panties are accepted. Exposure is usually accidental, but may also be deliberate. Pantsu views may be exclusive to the viewer without impacting any characters. Bikinis are not pantsu. Parody Anime that imitate other stories (can be from TV, film, books, historical events, ...) for comic effect by exaggerating the style and changing the content of the original. Also known as spoofs. It can also refer to when whole elements of one work are lifted out of their context and reused. Shounen A style of anime and manga intended for boys, characterized by high-action, often humorous plots featuring male protagonists. The camaraderie between boys or men on sports teams, fighting squads, etc. is often emphasized. Unrealistically attractive female characters are also common (see fanservice), but are not a requirement. The art style of shounen also tends to be less flowery than that of shoujo. Small Breasts Focus on flat-chested (pettanko) to slightly protruding breasts, often so mockingly or humorously. Usually involves children or adolescent girls. Vampires A super-human species, with long fangs used to penetrate the tender neck of young females, to drink blood. Violence Physical force against self or other, compelling action against one`s will on pain of being hurt.

Comedy that employs situations that nice people should not be laughing about. chainsaw no description set yet collateral damage The usually action orientated anime does not only show large amounts of combat and weapon use, but also the incidental massive destruction of property, often due to the inability of the protagonists to aim properly.
Example: Mecha duking it out in a densely populated urban area. contractor In this context, the contractor is usually portrayed as a supernatural being who grants their services for the duration of an agreement (or contract) to the seemingly average person in need, thus making the needy individual their contractee.
The agreement is usually not one made through verbal or written means, but one achieved through strange and unusual circumstances. Once the contract is made, the individuals involved become willing or unwilling partners until death or until a predetermined and ultimate goal is achieved. cross-dressing Describes a person who takes on the role of their opposite gender, physically involving appearance and clothing only. The cross-dressing person, usually intending to keep their true identity secret for a long duration of time, tends to become well adapt in portraying their disguise, for example in voice, action/reaction, likes/dislikes, movements, etc. extreme wackiness The anime is not just a bit on the hysterical side, it is totally whacked out and over the top. A large amount of quick dialogues and much slapstick violence move the plot forward at a reckless pace.
All this can be hilarious, but may also make the anime hard to follow and potentially annoying after some time. fanservice `Fan Service` typically consists of a variety of racy or sexual content — usually female but sometimes male — aimed to catch the viewer`s attention, with something suggestive and generally `pleasing to the eyes`. More often than not this involves nudity, yet can simply have to do with panty shots / flashing of undergarments, bathing suits, the jiggling of breasts, or other such eye candy.
While the term is used primarily with respect to Japanese animation, any gratuitous content within entertainment may be considered to be `fan service`. general lack of common sense Often a desired backdrop to many anime-comedy series, where most happenings are fast paced and senseless for the pure comical enjoyment of viewers.
The lacking of common sense describes a conflicting existence to which some or many people don`t share the majority`s general knowledge of all things, all possible actions and all the logical results of those actions.
In spite of a character`s intelligence (although senselessness may suggest some may be lacking average knowledge), most instances receive illogical results or the events themselves are illogical, therefore the events make just as little sense as the results to follow. gore Very violent scenes appear in the show. Don`t be surprised to see people dying in a violent and painful way.
Oh, and with lots and lots of blood splattering all over the place. helpful couple This is a very low key type of romance in which the main two characters spend a great deal of time hanging out together just helping other people solve problems. The couple`s personal interaction tends to be subtle. henshin Japanese for "transformation" (metamorphosis or disguise).
A "henshin anime" is any anime, where the characters or their costumes transform, such as Sailor Moon. The henshin switches on the character`s special powers, and is frequently accompanied by a costume change. Often the change of clothing is the only outward indicator that the character has changed and yet nobody seems to notice the hero`s true self.
Most henshin heroes have a special item which they use to change into their heroic form. These items are usually activated by a command phrase (which is often in Engrish, for some reason), triggering a transformation sequence. kuudere A kuudere rounds out the dere family in a rather basic way. Allegorically speaking, a kuudere is like snow: it may be cold and harsh at first glance but it is also what keeps autumn`s seeds warm and safe until spring.
Similarly, while she may appear unemotional and practical, it is but a frosty mask that protects her tender, delicate feelings deep underneath the façade, waiting for someone to melt the snow and allow them to spring. let`s go die a little Main character tends to die a lot! master-servant relationship To some genres, this would suggest a genuine pairing where one person exists to serve another person, such as in some action/dramas where the pair becomes united by destiny as partners - fighting or battles between different pairs/partners will usually be a dominant part of the story.
In other genres, this suggests a relationship where one person may be occupied as or even forcefully treated as a servant or slave to the other who designates themself the master - these services usually apply anywhere from tsundere/romantic-comedies to ecchi or to the more extreme in hentai. over the top Both the characters and the story in this anime are completely over the top. overly long transformation sequence The transformation sequences of the protagonists (or of the piloted robot) are repeated far too often and take up too much time in the show.
The observant viewer may suspect - and probably rightly so - unnecessary episode prolonging via frame repetitions (due to budget restrictions). revenge A primary factor that drives the plot forward. surprisingly good Contrary to previous speculations or in spite of reviews, some would say the anime isn`t as bad as one might have originally thought it would be. tsundere A character type (usually female), who is often easily agitated or combative, but other times is quite kind and caring, especially in situations involving a person they are (knowingly or unknowingly) attracted to. TV censoring The TV version is censored and later DVD/BD releases are uncensored, so the money-grubbing capitalists can make a couple more bucks at our expense. under one roof For some flimsy reason the main protagonist (e.g. male in harem / female in reverse-harem) is living together with many other (female/male) characters under the same roof, i.e. apartment, house, or mansion. vampire girl At least one of the female characters is a vampire, a mythological or folkloric un-dead creature able to suck human blood, shapeshift into a bat (sometimes also into a wolf or some fog), and with a strong fear of garlic, flowing water, and sunlight (believed to be deadly for vampires), and holy water and holy symbols.
A human bitten or even scratched by a vampire is typically doomed to die (as if poisoned) and becomes a vampire after death (sometimes becomes a ghoul, a zombie, or some other un-dead, depends on the setting), under the command of the vampire master.
Vampires are granted extra-human strength and senses. They also enjoy an infinite lifespan (until the body is burnt by sunlight, or by fire, or stabbed by some silver weapon, or shot by a silver bullet, or stabbed by an aspen stake). zombie At least one undead zombie graces this anime with an appearance.
