Vampires exist. It is the duty of Hellsing, an organization sponsored by the British government, to hide that frightening fact and protect the blissfully unaware populace. Along with its own personal army, Hellsing also has a few secret weapons. Alucard, an incredibly powerful vampire, has been controlled by Hellsing for years. Although he dislikes being a servant to the Hellsing family, he certainly enjoys his job as Hellsing’s vampire exterminator. Seras is a fledgling vampire and a former police woman. Although reluctant to embrace her new self, she is still a valuable member of the organization. Integra Hellsing, the current leader, is usually fully capable of fulfilling her duty, but lately, vampire activity has been on the rise. Unfortunately, the cause is more alarming than anything she could have imagined...

Action Action anime usually involve a fairly straightforward story of good guys versus bad guys, where most disputes are resolved by using physical force. It often contains a lot of shooting, explosions and fighting. Alternative Present Anime that fit in the alternative present category usually have technology and society that is very similar to ours, but with differences in both, history and culture, which sometimes are blatantly obvious, but sometimes harder to place; this one can at times be very subjective. Contemporary Fantasy Magic and supernatural beings exist secretly in what is generally regarded as the real world. Such elements may have originated from another world. Stories where a modern-day character travels to an alternate fantasy world are not considered contemporary fantasy. Cops The police (civil servants) are the good guys in the battle against crime. Though they try hard, they are usually outclassed by super-criminals or criminal organizations in anime, requiring the help of special units or some lone hero. Fantasy Magic and other supernatural forms are primary elements of plot, theme and/or setting. It is up to the civil law enforcement, i.e. detectives, Police or Special Squads, to keep the lawless activities in the real world or in cyberspace under control.

It`s common practice to make manga adaptations of many popular anime, there`s a manga based on Evangelion, and two (one shounen and one shoujo) based on each of Escaflowne and Mahou Tsukai Tai. Also it`s quite common to release manga and anime versions of a story in parallel, for instance Nadesico and Shoujo Kakumei Utena. There are also cases where an anime continues in a manga, or reverse, as in the case of Angel Beats! and Angel Beats: Heaven`s Door. Seinen A subset of anime or manga that is generally targeted at a 18 - 25 year old male audience, but the audience can be much older with some manga aimed at businessmen well into their 40s. Special Squads The Special Squads are called in when the police is completely outclassed, e.g. fighting criminal syndicates. These special forces are trained to combat specific forms of crime, e.g. the anti-cyber-crime division.
There are several such squads: Whereas Section 9 of Ghost in the Shell is an official government organisation, there are also "benevolent" vigilante groups like the Knight Sabers (Bubblegum Crisis).
Criminal syndicates also have their special forces e.g. "death squads". Time: Present Somewhere between past and future United Kingdom The nation that once ruled half the globe (British Empire). Some consider the word`s meaning to be sufficiently broad as to additionally encompass the antagonist who (in contrast to the archetypal villain) elicits considerable sympathy or admiration. Usually the antihero lacks heroic motivation and uses questionable methods to achieve his goal, this is done from the perspective that the ends justify the means. awesome main character The show`s main characters deserve awe and worship. - This could be for many reasons including but not limited to ability, personality, strength of character.
Which is good. I mean who wants angst ridden brats for main characters these days anyway? big guns no description set yet brutal The anime features several scenes of unrefined violence. Christianity Christianity is a monotheistic religion based on the life and teachings of Jesus of Nazareth as presented in the New Testament. This anime`s main character is comparable to the gods themselves in terms of resistibility, strength and/or downright bad-assery. Whenever they seem as if the fire inside has burnt out, they rise from the ashes with enough tenacity and ferocity to vanquish any foe that dare stand against them. powerful main character Characters that are so powerful that they can tear apart their foes with ease. These powers may well start off relativity weak, gaining in power as the anime progresses. religious persecution no description set yet special abilities It could be just one individual or it could be the entire population; either way, the presence of a special power/ability is an integral part of this anime. undead Things such as humans or animals that are deceased but reanimate to seemingly "live again".
Although usually viewed as evil-doing beings of darkness, it`s common that not all undead things necessarily be evil, and the protagonist may even turn out to be some type of ghost or breed of vampire.
Other examples of the undead include zombies, skeletons, ghouls, wraiths, spectres, liches, ghasts, mummies, wights, draugs (draugr) and Frankenstein monsters.
Zombies, being the most common when referencing "undead", are often found in the horror genre in mass numbers. They usually seek living flesh as sustenance while lacking the intelligence and motor functions they had prior to death.
The reanimation commonly occurs when a living person is killed and fed upon by another that is already a zombie. In other cases, a mere bite or scratch by an undead will infect the victim like a disease, thus causing them a painful death and haste reanimation. vampire girl At least one of the female characters is a vampire, a mythological or folkloric un-dead creature able to suck human blood, shapeshift into a bat (sometimes also into a wolf or some fog), and with a strong fear of garlic, flowing water, and sunlight (believed to be deadly for vampires), and holy water and holy symbols.
A human bitten or even scratched by a vampire is typically doomed to die (as if poisoned) and becomes a vampire after death (sometimes becomes a ghoul, a zombie, or some other un-dead, depends on the setting), under the command of the vampire master.
Vampires are granted extra-human strength and senses. They also enjoy an infinite lifespan (until the body is burnt by sunlight, or by fire, or stabbed by some silver weapon, or shot by a silver bullet, or stabbed by an aspen stake). zombie At least one undead zombie graces this anime with an appearance.
